Dr. Steven Chillrud (Columbia University, U2R Co-I) conducted a week-long training workshop to the GEOHealth Hub team at Addis Ababa University (AAU) on exposure assessment October 9-13, 2023.
The workshop included a review of the study design for the personal monitoring study. The training covered the use of the new accelerometers and GPS loggers, as well as data management and analysis of data collected from the Modulair-PM and Atmotube air quality monitors.
A focus group was held to gain feedback on wearing a harness to hold the exposure monitors and GPS loggers and a mini pilot was conducted to test wearing compliance of the harness carrying the exposure devices. A post-deployment focus group was also conducted to gather feedback and issues on wearing the harness. Additionally, the team made school visits in order to assess locations for installation of Modulair and e-sampler air quality monitors.
