On February 22, 2019, Principal Investigator Kiros Berhane (University of Southern California) visited the GEOHealth Hub team in Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) to discuss several research and project management issues. A half day meeting was held at Ethiopia Hotel (Addis Ababa) with all key investigators as well us all Hub staff members in attendance. The main agenda items were the announcement of Dr. Belay Simane’s status as the U01 Co-Principal Investigator, the introduction of new staff members (the new Hub Manager, new Data Manager and the new Hub Administrator), extensive discussion of data analysis findings (on both the Children’s Health Study and the Hospital Mortality/Morbidity Study), the status of the heat stress study, the status of the Household Exposure Assessment campaign and other air quality monitoring issues. The meeting included extensive discussions about publication strategies – focusing on prioritization of papers. To this end, next steps for data analysis were discussed in detail.
