My research focuses on Prevalence of Respiratory Symptoms and Associated factors Among Under-Five Children, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia .The study design Comparative Cross Sectional Study where the aim of the study is to compare the prevalence and associated factors (exposure variables like biomass fuel exposure and living proximity to high air pollution factor and other control variables are contributing factor for respiratory symptoms among under five.

Research interests include studying the relationship between air pollution and human health especially maternal health and pregnancy outcome in order to better understand the mechanisms through which pollutants affect the body and to develop strategies for mitigating their harmful effects.

My research focus is on climate change and health more specifically on the assessing the level and intensity of occupational heat stress and its health risks on workers in the sugar estates of Ethiopia. The study will measure heat exposure across seasons, evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practices of workers and managers, and examine the prevalence of kidney disease and its associated factors in this workforce.

Many studies have used costly methods to measure air pollutants such as carbon. My research is focussing on the use of a unique, low cost and rapid method to quantify the black carbon (BC) concentration in Nairobi city, Kenya. I will achieve this by analyzing photographs of BC collected on BAM-1022 filter tapes. Subsequently, I will assess the deaths attributable to BC exposure as recorded by BAM-1022; then explore the chronic effects of ambient BC on respiratory symptoms. The insights gained will be used to drive effective public health policy changes.
