GEOHealth Hub Principle Investigators (PIs) Drs. Berhane and Kumie visited Kenya during April 3-7, 2017, to meet officials of the new lead institution, University of Kabianga (UoK), and visit potential sites in Nairobi for the air quality monitors, schools that could be part of the Children’s Health Study, and hospitals for the morbidity and mortality study.  They met with the Vice Chancellor and the Deputy Vice Chancellors for finance and research to ensure that procurement and research setup systems are in place. The PIs also met with the dean and faculty of the College of Science and Technology, where the Kenya PI Dr. Afullo is based. Site visits were also conducted in Nairobi to make certain that the research field work is being set-up properly. A meeting with leaders of a potential partner group based at the University of Nairobi, the Center for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP), was also held to discuss the parameters of co-operation.
